Brighton man dies on car in Oak Square incident

Jonathan McCannell, 62, foreman of the Brighton police stable, of 23 Wester Street Brighton, died suddenly last evening aboard a Boston Elevated car in Oak Square. He boarded a Brighton centre car at 8 30 p m and became seriously ill on the car, unable to alight at Foster Street as planned, and died on board.

Alexander Scott editor of the Weekly Issue organ of the Industrial Workers of the World in Passaic was found guilty this afternoon of publishing matter hostile to government under an act passed after McKinley’s assassination. The offense carries a high misdemeanor with up to seven years in prison. The jury recommended mercy.
