Dog Saves Boy's Life in Malden Mud Hole Rescue

Gervon the brindle bulldog plunged into a three foot mud hole at Granville avenue Malden to rescue two year old Robert Malppizzi son of Mr and Mrs Hya cinthe Malppizzi. The canine carried the apparently lifeless child to a sand beach before a milk dealer named Albert I Steeves found him and carried him home as the dog watched. It is noted this is the dog's second rescue in recent months.

A fire of incendiary origin attacked the unoccupied dwelling at 10 Lafayette Avenue Chelsea last night. It kept firefighters busy for an hour and a half as they battled the blaze.

A house was destroyed after a stubborn fire ending in an $800 loss. Firemen found two ignition points one in a first floor closet and a basement. In the basement two lit candles amid shavings and paper were discovered, indicating deliberate setting.

A well dressed bogus telephone inspector in Back Bay haunts homes causing police unease. He gained entry at 319 Beacon Street and left with a morocco bag containing $8, with similar reports at other houses. Described as about 25, 5 ft 10, 165 pounds, smooth face, dark hair and complexion in dark clothes.

Lighter Captain Drowned Off Prpectacle Island

Captain Edward Nevins, 35, of Moran Transportation Company on Lighter No 4 anchored off Prpectacle Island, fell overboard yesterday afternoon and drowned. Rescue efforts failed. Italian fishermen found the body hours later and brought it to Constitution Wharf.

Oldest street department worker struck by car in Lexington

Thomas Welch aged 67 of Hayes Lane and a veteran street department employee was knocked down by an automobile driven by William J. Riley of 12 Revere Street in Lexington. Welch escaped serious injury.

Cambridge Teachers Club Forms Panel on State House Courtesies

A nine member committee was appointed at the Cambridge School Teachers' Club annual meeting to report on alleged courtesies. The group says members were denied admittance to the ladies waiting room and blocked from the corridor while attempting to interview legislators. They claim the State House lobby rule was cited though unused recently and question applying it to their unobtrusive activities.
