Wrecks Leave Coastline Shadowed by Fog and Gale

Thick fog and a brisk southwest gale wrecked six vessels along the North Atlantic coast last night and today. Eight men die in the incidents while twenty five crew are below decks aboard the vessels. The French brigantine Matre ran aground at Point Blanche near St Pierre harbor, Miquelon, in the early hours.
