Three South Boston youths go missing in mysterious trio

Police reported three disappearances in South Boston. Gregory LaRosa aged 16 from A Street left home May 21 and has not been seen. Francis Greehan 18 from 26 Eighth Street vanished Thursday afternoon. Eight-year-old George Keefe of Liverpool Street East Boston was last seen on Decoration Day near his home wearing a white checked blouse and cadet cap.

Judge Lowell of the Circuit Court allows the American Woollen Company to proceed with its bankruptcy petition against Miner, Beal & Co. The company, disputing the assignment, refused 6 cents on the dollar and claimed that 100 cents could be paid.

Grand jury considers Maguire and Slocum cases

The federal grand jury was called yesterday for Edward M. Maguire Weltham letter carrier charged with obstructing mail contents and Joseph Slocum of New Bedford held on a counterfeiting charge. An indictment was returned against Maguire and no bill in Slocum’s case. Maguire pleaded not guilty and was held on 1500 bail for the next session.
