Tennessee Delegate Backs Grant and Dix for Blaine
Judge Horace H. Harrison of Tennessee arrives in Chicago and reports 18 of Tennessee’s delegates favor Grant and Dix for Blaine, arguing Grant’s nomination would disrupt the solid South and likely carry New York. Texas Republicans nominate Ex Gov. Komard J. Davis for Vice President, asserting a Southern pick strengthens national ticket and serves the country’s needs.
