Waterfront Calendar Notes Memorial Day Disrupts Pier Activity

All business at the South Boston fish pier was suspended yesterday in observance of Memorial Day. The Day’s arrivals included the steam trawler Billow with 180,000 pounds of groundfish and several schooners carrying haddock cod and halibut. The Archimedes at Commonwealth pier will discharge 13,000 bales of wool worth about 9.75 million dollars. The coast guard cutter Seneca will replace Ossipee to resume ice patrol duties.
