Peculiar Massachusetts case over a memorial inscription

A Suffolk case centers on Mary A Bergin and her first husband Michael Bergin. After his death on Oct 13 1893 the Bergin family funded a grand monument at Calvary Cemetery with an inscription naming him beloved husband. The widow later remarried and contested the changed inscription that now called him beloved son. Attorney Timsothy W. Coakley represents Mary A Bergin. The case hinges on ownership of the gravestone and its memory inscription and also involves the widow’s second husband supporting her. The Bergin family bought burial land in Calvary for the enclosure and Switchen Bros. of Quincy were contracted for the monument.
