Boston and Albany Station Plan Proposed by Directors
At a special meeting President D Waldo Lincoln presented a scheme to convert the large brick freight house on Kneeland Street into a passenger depot with entrances on Kneeland Lincoln and Utica streets. The 460 by 120 foot brick structure would provide waiting rooms and offices about twenty feet high while the main section rises fifty feet. The plan would cost about 15 thousand dollars less than a new depot, retain the current passenger station for a time, and require a new freight house on Albany Street land. Directors favored the plan but deferred a decision for detailed plans and estimates.
