The Granger block in Synacusr New York was burned this afternoon destroying the Journal and Standard offices and Luce's job printing office. Losses total about $27,000 with $17,500 insured. The building owned by Sedgwick and Cowles carries $25,000 insurance and will cover the loss. Ground floor stores were emptied with minor damage. second floor housed law offices. The Journal and Standard will continue publishing without interruption. This marks the second blaze at the Granger block.
