Explosion Kills Woman and Son Near New Rochelle
In New York on July 23 a gasolene launch named Sasco owned by Alfred E. Crow blew up within 100 feet of Premium Point near New Rochelle. Mrs Crow and her 14-year-old son Harold were killed. Crow was severely injured and may not recover. The blast was heard for miles and the boat left only fragments larger than two feet.

Lynching of Assault Suspect in Huntsville La
Elijah Clark, a Black man, who assaulted 13 year old Susan Priest, was taken from the jail in Huntsville and lynched near the crime site. The mob used tar feathers and oil to create a smoke screen. Sheriff Fulgram was unable to prevent the mob and was placed under care.

Man Falls From Dump Cart in Brighton Heat
