Temperance Picnic for 500 Children at Lake Walden

About 500 children from Winchester Stoneham Marlboro Berlin and East Somerville, members of juvenile temperance groups, picnicked at Lake Walden yesterday. Mrs. A F Rolfe of Concord organized the event with singing, speaking and instrumental music. Helen G Rice of Boston gave a practical talk urging temperance and virtue, followed by a Gough memorial service. Miss Fanny Rolfe read about the life of the temperance advocate, and the children read selections from Gough. Mrs E Trask Hill spoke on the traits that made Mr Gough useful and famous.
