Four Dead and Twenty-One Hurt in Connecticut Trolley Crash

In Westport Connecticut three trolley cars collided head on at a sharp curve on a downhill stretch. A train of cars packed 279 Sunday picnic riders from East Bridgeport’s Point Union Mission. Four died outright or later, including Andrew Fisher 16, Raymond Fuller 12, Frank Nagry 11, and Mabel Cleveland 21, all Bridgeport residents.

Tragedy on Picnic Train Involving Motorman Harold Nathan

Near Death by Drowning in Dorchester Yacht Disaster

Mrs. Joseph F. Bowers of 31 Saxon Street Dorchester narrowly escaped drowning yesterday afternoon when the tender she boarded to reach her husband’s yacht Kitty capsized. She clung to a rail as life savers from a government station arrived just in time. A motor boat launched and pulled her to safety as a rescue race unfolded.
