A Newark, New Jersey woman identified as Mary Shepard is found drowned at Long Wharf in New Haven. Her husband, Mr. Drifuss, deserted her six months earlier and moved away. She followed him to New Haven, and after living together briefly he left again. She had told friends of plans to take her own life. Her body was exhumed and reburied in the Jewish cemetery yesterday by friends.

Omaha reports the Grand Army reunion meeting expectations as the commander-in-chief invites delegations from Massachusetts Pennsylvania New York Ohio Michigan Illinois and Iowa to join him. An escort of about 30 Union Pacific coaches and sleepers accompanied the commander-in-chief. Ten carloads of delegates moved via the Union Pacific last night with similar numbers planned for this evening.

In New Haven a 30 year old Joseph Rizzo was shot in the abdomen by John Costello who fled. A man killed near a locomotive is believed to be Michael Buszar of Mahoney City, Pa. Rubber thefts tied to L Candee Co produce a $5000 loss with August Lehman turning state evidence and naming James E Cosen and his son as paymasters. The Cosen men are bound over to the superior court in $1000 bonds.
Passers-by in Central avenue on Sunday morning observed four youths who attacked William K. Lynch owner of a saloon at 14 Central avenue after they tried to dine without paying. Lynch fought back, leaving two youths with bruises. two others were severely punished as police search for the assailants. Charles Brown, a known character, was arrested for drunkenness and later hospitalized with rum colic. Alexander Lee and Andrew Clements were jailed for a mutual assault on Beach street. The Newton police court session will move to 8:30 A M from Wednesday, with 3 P M Tuesday sessions. The American Watch Company at Waltham declined all future leave requests except for sickness. Timothy Buckley of Dedham, killed while under a NYNE railroad car at Norwood shops, had company absolved of blame by Justice Terry. J W Walker of Wheeler & Wilson Sewing Machine Co at Waltham was arrested for embezzlement. bail posted, but he failed to appear, and location is unknown. Thefts totaling about $200 are reported.
