Prisoners Arrive From Maryland After Rebel Plunder Train
Eighty one prisoners captured near Sandy Hook Maryland report they were guarding a plunder train. They were attacked near Snicker's Gap by General Crook's forces. the train was burned to stop it and the guards retreated. A Sandy Hook letter notes daily surrenders by retreating rebels. Many prisoners are exhausted barefoot and ragged. A Fairfax observer says raiders face many mishaps in Maryland loot retrieval and will hardly profit.

Escaped prisoners from Richmond arrive in New York
The Post's Washington despatch reports several escaped prisoners from Richmond affiliated with Massachusetts regiments have reached the city. They claim most captives from Grant's campaign are in Richmond. Also arrested for smuggling and robbery are August Schmidt Frederich Von Frouchin of the steamer America from Bremen and three others. The weather near Cape Racr is thick with southwest wind. The steamer New Jersey brings 200 men from the 17th Massachusetts Regiment under Major Sutton. The Erie Canal break at Albany has been repaired.
