The girl cooked for the family and later led the parents to the boy. The same girl previously disinterred a corpse for a breast pin and three years ago was cleared in a baby killing trial due to age.

Henry Schmidt aged 19 drowned while swimming at Thomas Kagan's bathing pavilion on One Hundred Fifty fifth Street by the Hudson River at 11 this morning.

Defender sailed to a practical victory over Vigilant in a first of two races for a $200 silver cup off Sandy Hook. Elapsed times show Defender at 3 18 40 and Vigilant at 3 52 15, with officials noting Defender led on elapsed time though official results await measurement and Monday’s rematch.
