Reds Edge Colonels In Slugging Defense Showdown
In a keen fielding game the Reds lucked into five runs in the fourth, aided by a Murphy home run and an Donovan error. Haddock pitched well despite bouts of control, while Fitzgerald allowed baserunners who were picked off by the Reds. Boston and Louisville fielded sharply with notable catches by Brown, McGeachy, Fox, and Jennings. Kurlinton stood at first in Brouthers’s absence, and a Jennings Taylor Ryan double play helped deny a Louisville rally.
