Twenty one championship contests at the Paris exposition end with the United States winning sixteen events, securing thirteen seconds and twelve thirds. In nine events today Americans took six firsts six seconds and seven thirds, winning the 200 metres hurdle stand ing high jump three standing jumps long jump hop and a jump hammer throwing and standing long jump. English and other competitors won three events. Orton failed to place in the 4000 metre steeplechase, finishing fifth after yesterday's strong showing.
