Odd Fellows Hall at Bass River nearing dedication in September
The new Odd Fellows hall for Bass River Lodge is nearing completion after a fire destroyed the former building. Built of brick with granite and freestone, the 43 by 78 foot hall features a monitor skylight, two chandeliers, frescoed emblems, and separate Pink, Blue, Scarlet, and Purple rooms. The second and fourth floors house banking rooms, a brick vault, a dining room, kitchen with elevator, and four street-level stores including a drug store, a boot and shoe store, and millinery displays. Cost totals $65,000 with architects and contractors named, and a furnishing committee overseeing the work.
