Two Beverly Motor Crashes Within an Hour
Two motor accidents occurred within an hour on Corning street Beverly near Lothrop street at the Peabody estate. A touring car owned by H Clinton Bessom struck D T Beaton s car injuring Mrs Abbie Hooper and wrecking both vehicles. An hour later Herbert Pettipas s car hit cyclist Charles Belfry causing a fractured hip and other injuries. Belfry was rushed to Beverly Hospital.

Dennis Shea 18 of 102 Baldwin Street was shot in the right thigh by Patrolman Michael Lynch during a escape from a liquor store at 537 Main Street Charlestown. Shea fled onto a roof then to his home where he was arrested and treated. accomplice Maurice Ryan 20 of 3 Lynchboro Street was also arrested after two boxes of cigars valued at 12 dollars were partially recovered.
