Paris Rising Suppressed Amid Broad Insurrection Shots
After a fierce week, General Lamoriciere led the effort while General Cavaignac directed from Paris to quell the revolt. Nine hundred insurgents were reported shot and hundreds more imprisoned as leaders were to be court martialed and others sent beyond seas. A royalist aide de camp of Charles X was executed and evidence files reveal planned revolutionary government structures and widespread money payments to rebels.
