A woman's scream disrupts a daring theft at 147 Tremont Street in Boston. Three suspects climbed a fire escape to loot Shreve, Crump & Lowe, a building holding millions in jewelry and valuables. Watchman William Anderson alerted police after seeing the intruders.
Paris reports allied fears that Germany faces reactionary anarchy and will seek a moratorium on Versailles reparations. The suspension may last one year, possibly two, with France resisting but the reparations commission likely to grant a respite as England Italy and Belgium back the move.
