Allen Released from Contempt over Cambridge Furniture

The Hon Isaac B. Allen ex councillor and chief janitor at the old Court House was jailed overnight for contempt of court over a decree from last October to return furniture bought from Christian Moller in 1897. Dr. S. BE. Courtney aided Allen by paying the $105 needed for release.

Boston Elevated to Run Main Line by December

Officials expect the Boston Elevated main line from Sullivan Square Charlestown to Bartlett Street Roxbury to be mostly erected and in service by December. Stations along the route will mirror the design with copper lined exteriors and pine interiors while the line enters the subway at Causeway Street and travels to Pleasant Street before resuming on the elevated near Bartlett Street. The intermediate stations follow a Dutch architectural style with the two terminals at Sullivan Square and Dudley Street differing.

Albany lease vote and rail issues dominate session

The House of Representatives debated the Albany lease with a 42 78 vote on the order and considered amendments to limit spending on the Grand Junction railroad and remove referenda.
