Drowning at Revere Beach Claims Buffum Life

Mr M N Buffum aged about 22, son in law of State Detective David Wentworth, drowned off Oak Island Revere Beach while bathing with J N Griffin. They were swept beyond reach by a strong tide. Griffin was rescued by George Rogers. Local note records death by own action as William Ricker, 21, shot himself at his father Jethro Ricker's Salem Street home between 6 and 7 pm, ending his illness.
