Live stock sales at Brighton yards report strong cattle demand

Spring chickens sold at 20 cents per pound. Mixed fowl 12 cents. Hollis and Co shipped nine carloads of sheep. Libby and Son sold ten cows at 250 per head and five at 25 per head with two yielding 16 quarts daily at 45 each. Numerous milch cows sold through several buyers with prices from 25 to 60. Western steers averaged 1328 pounds at 605 and 1532 pounds at 620 with other lots selling hot. Springers and mulch cows also traded by multiple sellers reaching up to 60.
