William Leahy of 12 Piedmont Street faces murder charges after Michael Sullivan of West Fourth Street South Boston died from a head injury suffered at a Beach Street saloon. Sullivan, a Civil War veteran, died at Sargency Hospital after a 4:30 p.m. assault. Leahy was arrested within two hours and Guerin is held as a witness.

Funeral Delayed as Mob Tarred Husband and Sister
In Sterling Newfoundland, the funeral of Mrs. John Siebert from Mt. Morris was delayed when mourners dragged her husband and his sister in law to a cornfield.
