Congress Drops Seven Hour Clerk Day Rider
J Washington July 1 Congress removed a rider from the legislative executive and judicial appropriation bill that would have required government clerks to work seven hours a day instead of eight. President Wilson vetoed the measure over the change and salary increases to twelve dollars a year were not altered.
