Record Commissioners And Boston Births 1849 Plan

Mr Kimball of Ward Six described an ordinance to appoint two Record Commissioners by the Mayor in July 1875 for five years without pay to complete Boston's birth, marriage, and death records prior to 1849, with no spending without City Council approval. Read twice and passed. A LIVELY ROW: Officer Johnson attempted to arrest Michael Finneran on Clay street for a warrant. Finneran resisted, kicked the officer, a tussle ensued, and he was taken to the station amid flying missiles from his supporters. John Lawless clashed with Officer Galvin at the station, leading to Lawless being ejected.
