The Senate reports commissions to fix the northern boundary with a bill to confirm the line. The proposed boundary takes about 45 acres from Rhode Island and adds to Massachusetts.
In New York on January 50 the organizers fixed arrangements for Slade versus Sullivan. Rumors say warrants were issued for Richard Kk. Fox and William F. Warding, Slade's backers, to arrest them this afternoon to halt further fight prep. The Slade Mace exhibition, delayed last night, may move to Monday at Madison Square Garden with venue likely shifting to New Jersey or another state.

An answer filed in New Haven CT shows the state relator Franks Andrew impleads incumbent Henry G. Lewis. The defendant asserts Judge Park’s recount decision gave him a certificate as mayor and he has served since January 1. A recount petition will be heard soon.
In Adrian Michigan Jan 50 a ladle of molten iron spilled on snow and flashed to steam causing an explosion. Albert Smith and Jacob Ray were fatally injured and several others were hurt.
A severe snow storm hit St. Paul on January 30, suspending nearly all freight trains on the Northwestern and Southwestern lines. No passenger trains arrived that day, and only a few were dispatched, marking the worst storm of the season for the area.

A constitution and by laws for a permanent organization were adopted.
Haverhill Mass January 30 crowds gather for trotting day on the Merrimac river. Boston Herald wins three heats and best two of five in the mile track event. The meet will continue Wednesday with fast horses from Lawrence Amesbury and Newburyport.
In Cleveland on January 30 the board named W H Vanderbilt Cornelius Vanderbilt Augustus Scheu and J H as directors of the New York Chicago and St. Louis railroad. The announcement lists leading financiers and executives among the choices.
The New York senate confirmed Messrs Ker pan Rogers and O'Donnell as railroad commissioners. Ker pan and Rogers were approved without opposition, while O'Donnell was chosen by a 25 to 7 vote. A verdict of guilty was returned in the forgery case against James Tl Brown ex storekeeper of the almshouse, with a motion for a new trial.

Bancomen Harry Green and John Wright stopped while fleecing a man on Edinboro street. Five men including Meegan Haley Rogers Dow arrested for breaking and entering Mullane store and stealing tobacco and wine. stolen items traced to Dennis McAvoy. The owners were by station 9 for the balance of recovered property.
