Official documents disclose that after a careful examination of the case the commander in Boston was reinstated and General Cole placed back in charge. The inquiry found the division commander’s removal to be unjust and fully exonerated General Cole.
Gen Pershing found Brig Gen Charles H Cole unjustly relieved from command of the 52d Infantry Brigade and ordered his reinstatement. Adjutant General Robert C Davis reports Pershing’s personal exoneration and forthcoming orders. Documents received from France detail the findings and reaffirm Cole’s wartime record.
At Paris on January 29 the supreme council met with full attendance to consider German colonies and instructions to the commission to Poland. A compromise is expected that preserves Wilson's international administration plan while granting mandatories freedom to act under their colonies.
The Maine trial of Henry H. Hall, Wells Depot evangelist, unfolds with medical evidence that his wife Minnie O. Stevens Hall was choked before death. Medical examiner Charles F. Traynor testifies three fingers and a thumb left marks on the victim’s throat at the hospital and later during preparation for burial.
Carmella Marie Marie, two year old daughter of Louis and Mrs Marie of School Street Everett, died at Frost Hospital Chelsea after a revolver discharge by her brother Michael. The incident occurred at noon when the mother was away feeding a pig. Michael admitted taking a revolver from a closet and firing. Dr Clifford Harrington treated a scalp wound and later ordered transport to the hospital where Carmella died shortly after arrival.
