Judge Emmons announces a city curfew closing pool halls billiard rooms and bowling alleys at midnight after May 1 with licenses to require owners to close at 12. He cites public order and late hours as reasons and says the order will begin with new licenses issued for the coming year.
About three hundred sailors idle in Boston as Seamen's Union and vessel owners debate wages. Union suggests no wage draw before earning and arbitration. owners to respond. Sailors claim pay from $2 to $30 monthly for diverse vessels, arguing their work on dangerous coasts justifies higher pay.

He admitted signing Cortelyou’s name on a $25 check and had letters from high officials. Police say Mannix’s plan involved a $50 draft to be cashed with Bates’s help and followed by a similar scheme at the Vendome.

Thieves entered the steamer Henry Wilson of the United States Army quartermaster's department while at her Lewis wharf berth on Wednesday night. They took a siren whistle from the engine room and a copper hammer belonging to the quartermaster's department. The whistle, valued at $15, belonged to engineer Henry Bartolot.
