Grade Crossing Tragedy Near Arctic Centre
At a Willimantic division grade crossing near Arctic twelve miles from Providence Maggie Mc Guire, her brother William, and a 19 year old named Verrier were struck by a New York & New England express. Miss McGuire died instantly as the buggy and occupants were thrown about thirty feet with the horse. Verrier suffered severe neck and head injuries and his leg was amputated below the knee. McGuire was bruised and cut but both he and Verrier are expected to recover.
