In a Sunday evening incident at No 55 West Fifth street South Boston Elizabeth Wessells 14 with alleged fear of Henry Fanhaur 28 shot him in the right temple. Fanhaur died or likely will from the wound while Elizabeth was taken into custody after John 16 witnessed the event and police responded.

Also sold is the cat boat Julia belonging to J A Stetson to J Abbott, built 1880 at East Boston, 21 ft 5 in by 17 ft 1 in by 1 ft 1 in. First-class and fast, Hull Yacht Club champion last season.

The 69th annual public meeting of the City Missionary Society was held at Shawmut Congregational Church on Sunday evening. Poor weather kept attendance slim as Hon. James White, president, presided and gave a brief resume of the society’s work.

Reads include local notices and other classified listings with varying per line charges. Cuts are priced at double general rate and must be solid and curved at advertiser expense.

Knight, former Wheeler & Wilson manager in North Adams, is sought for embezzlement after disappearing likely to Canada. other company officials indicate Knight owes nearly 600. In February Morris Murray of West Stockbridge faced illegal liquor selling charges. a bribery plea with a $20 gold piece presented to Judge Tucker led to a guilty verdict for attempted bribery. case to be appealed. Street commissioners held a continued hearing on Franklin street closure with Ex Judge Soule of the Boston and Albany rail road arguing the public has used the street as a shortcut to the depot but now with rail expansion the company seeks to withdraw the privilege. Remonstrants say the street is officially recognized and should stay open while the decision was reserved.
