John Junke a salesman from Williamburgh faced court on deception charges after promising marriage to Agnes Koenig of Bartlett Street while also arranging marriage with Margaret Hammer. The judge advised choosing one, and Junke agreed to marry Agnes. they were secretly wed in the justice's private room after the hearing.

Sylvester Roundtree appeared in Superior Criminal Court yesterday on a first degree murder charge. He pleaded not guilty. no trial date is set. Authorities say he hired a revolver for 50 cents by pledging his coat, then shot Anna White at 41 Bradford Street, who was found dead with six bullet wounds.
A hearse carrying Miss Wilkinson’s body was struck on Broadway by a cable car, demolishing the carriage and breaking the casket. The body was transferred to another hearse and sent to Boston for interment.
