John B. Lombard once Framingham town treasurer walked from Charlestown State prison after a Governor's Council parole. He headed to South Framingham to greet his wife and family after nearly six years apart. Lombard had been jailed in 1910 for misappropriation of town funds involving a note broker.
Edward Wilkinson Lombard of Buckminster Boston wed Miss Estelle Lamonte of Seattle yesterday in South Framingham. At 3:50 PM Lombard learned he was free as tears came to his eyes, but he arrived home too late for the ceremony.
The Rt. Rev. Benjamin Brewster of Glenwood Springs Colorado was elected bishop of the Protestant Episcopal diocese of Maine to fill the vacancy caused by Bishop Robert Codman’s death in Portland.
In an all day executive session the clergy gathered and voted. John F. A. Merrill nominated Bishop Brewster after the meeting while Rev. John H. Hopkins was the sole other candidate presented by Dean Frank L. Vernon. Brewster won with 19 clerical and 62 lay votes, Hopkins 10 clerical and 15 lay votes. Brewster, a Yale graduate of 1882, has served in New York City, South Orange New Jersey, Colorado Springs and Salt Lake City and was consecrated bishop in 197.

Mrs Elizabeth Scott Child sued Richard Washburn Child in the New York Supreme Court for divorce. Papers were filed in the county clerk and kept under seal. Attorneys refused to discuss the case or reveal the reasons for the action. The respondent in the case is not named in the complaint.
Mr and Mrs Child are prominent Boston society figures living on Beacon Street and in Cohasset since their marriage. The notice highlights their social standing and residence positions.
Cohasset notable and writer Mr Child, a Harvard graduate class of 1903, gained early fame for short stories and prize wins. He published Jim Hands in 1910 The Men and Shadow in 1911 and The Blue Wall in 1912. He married Elizabeth Scott in 1904, a Washington society figure active with the Progressive party.
