In Butte Montana a stranger, believed to be Charles Burt of Spokane, shot Mr Waldi Whipple and his wife Mrs Whipple, then killed himself. Whipple survived with a wound to the chest while Mrs Whipple was wounded in the arm. Police found papers linking the gunman to Joe Acton the wrestler.
