Fire forces Mead family to flee in Newton blaze

Newton Jan 24 The Mead family at 32 Lincoln road were driven into the street when fire broke from first floor windows at 11 20 tonight. Passersby awakened the occupants who escaped uninjured. Firemen report the heater in the basement started the blaze and the lower portion of the house was badly damaged with losses running into thousands.

Quincy Man Killed by Train Near Norfolk Downs Depot

The body of a man was found on the railroad tracks at the Norfolk Downs depot in Quincy. He appeared struck by a train with severe injuries. A card read A. Corbin found on him. directory lists Alexander Corbin at 24 Rosen Road, Norfolk Downs.

Miss Oelrichs to wed Thomas after license in New York

Blanche Marie Oelrichs daughter of banker Charles M Oelrichs obtained a marriage license at City Hall with Leonard Moorehead Thomas of Philadelphia. The wedding will be quiet at the Oelrichs home 925 Park Avenue on Wednesday. Thomas son of the late George C Thomas of the Drexel Biddle banking house has spent time in travel sports and diplomacy including Madrid and Rome where he survived a serious automobile accident with William K Vanderbilt.

A 2 year old Holstein broke loose from chains and chased Cohen near the barn. He leaped a wall but his clothing caught, a horn pierced his hand and body was thrown against a fence. He suffers severe bruises with injuries still undetermined.
