London report says the Unionists gained another seat in the Southport division of Lancashire today. Otherwise the sparse results announced tonight do not alter relative party strength with Nationalists and Liberals holding their positions.
Early results show Liberals with 15 seats, Unionists 1, Nationalists 1 as vast polling continues. Winston Spencer Churchill predicts a Liberal majority near Salisbury’s peak, while Lloyd-George wins Carnarvon Borough but with a smaller margin.
Newton Jan 24 The Mead family at 32 Lincoln road were driven into the street when fire broke from first floor windows at 11 20 tonight. Passersby awakened the occupants who escaped uninjured. Firemen report the heater in the basement started the blaze and the lower portion of the house was badly damaged with losses running into thousands.
The body of a man was found on the railroad tracks at the Norfolk Downs depot in Quincy. He appeared struck by a train with severe injuries. A card read A. Corbin found on him. directory lists Alexander Corbin at 24 Rosen Road, Norfolk Downs.
Blanche Marie Oelrichs daughter of banker Charles M Oelrichs obtained a marriage license at City Hall with Leonard Moorehead Thomas of Philadelphia. The wedding will be quiet at the Oelrichs home 925 Park Avenue on Wednesday. Thomas son of the late George C Thomas of the Drexel Biddle banking house has spent time in travel sports and diplomacy including Madrid and Rome where he survived a serious automobile accident with William K Vanderbilt.
Philip Cohen a Lafayette road farmer and cattle dealer in Portsmouth is severely gored and tossed over a fence by an angry bull after he eluded its pursuit for nearly an hour by dodging among the apple trees in his orchard on January 24.
A 2 year old Holstein broke loose from chains and chased Cohen near the barn. He leaped a wall but his clothing caught, a horn pierced his hand and body was thrown against a fence. He suffers severe bruises with injuries still undetermined.
William Glogowsky of Haverhill collapsed during a wedding dance in Lawrence as joy at his ceremony peaked. The medical examiner ruled the death due to heart disease brought on by excitement over the wedding during the reception.
Daniel J. Lehan former exalted ruler of the Boston Lodge of Elks and member of the Irish Charitable Society and prominent in K of C circles died after a brief illness at his home 38 Seattle Street Allston aged 43. He is survived by a widow and two children.

The Gresham picked up wireless reports from Nantucket lightship about a wreck off Cape Cod. Captain Aberoff reached the overturned vessel 40 miles southeast of Nantucket at 9 45 yesterday, finding three masts gone.

Chicago January 24 Judge Kenesaw M Landis opened a federal inquiry into alleged Chicago packing houses restraint of trade He criticized Justice Department officials and the press for plans to prosecute the Beef Trust while warning such disclosures could obstruct justice and harm those under scrutiny
Judge Landis revealed to the grand jury his plan to draw attention to alleged circumstances connected with the fresh meat inquiry. District Attorney Edwin W. Sims reserved comment while court remarks highlighted DOJ preparation for action on the beef barons. No evidence was presented on the beef combine and none expected until late tomorrow or Wednesday.
