Forbids Blacklisting Text From Historic Law Passage
A historical provision declares that anyone who designates a person or firm not to work for or be employed, or to be avoided for purchases or credit, in pursuance of a vote or agreement, is guilty of blacklisting. Each offense carries a fine up to 100 dollars, imprisonment up to six months, or both.
Labor measure report outlines far reaching blacklist proposal
The recess committee on labor advocates 28 measures with the proposed blacklisting law as the shortest yet most far reaching. Four dissent from the report. Some bills permit peaceful persuasion to avoid employment, legalizing picketing and amending injunction law. A minority favors England's workmen's compensation model. The committee praises Edward Cohen and Dennis D Driscoll shot in Governor Guild's office by Steele. Leopold Wallack dies in New York.
