State Prosecution Details Graham Bank Deposits and Kiting

In Montpelier Vermont on January 22 the state laid out two main points in its case against former Governor Grace F. Graham. First, defense admitted that state money drawn by Graham on his order was deposited into his personal accounts at Vermont banks. Second, bank officials testified deposits and slips showed accounts were manipulated, suggesting possible check kiting. Witnesses traced deposits to White River National Bank Bethel Newport City Savings Bank St. Johnsbury and National Bank of Newport with overdrafts noted. The trial proceeds with multiple witnesses and is not expected to finish before Monday.
