Boston Museum Romeo and Richelieu stage mix

Lawrence Barrett starred as Romeo with Annie Clarke as Juliet at the Boston Museum, delivering an artistic though slightly restrained Romeo. Juliet's balcony and poison scene drew high praise from Miss Clarke, while supporting roles by Crisp, Burrows, Cowper, Hill, Mrs Williams, and Mrs Vincent sustained the production. The evening continued with Richelieu, and upcoming shows feature Raphael in the Marble Heart and Richard III. Professor Raymond opened Shakespeare readings with Much Ado About Nothing, lauded for Dogberry, with a five-week plan of classics to follow, including The Tempest and King Lear. The Elks Benefit at Boston Theatre promises a varied bill and Mayor Prince will speak on charity aims. Pizarro closes Boston Theatre run with McCullough, plus a debut for Miss Gavin in Brutus. The Somerset Course featured Augustus Bedford on What I Saw in the West, with an organ concert and illustrated journey from Boston to St. Paul.
