Erene McKean a 15 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Emree McKean of 9 1 2 Robinson Street Saugus was killed on the Boston and Maine railroad tracks near the Saugus Centre depot while on her way to meet her parents police believe she was struck by the same train they were riding. The tragedy occurred amid a howling gale as she walked the tracks after preparing supper for her siblings.

New Civilian Wireless Record Set by Maxim Station

Man Rescues Five Hour Sealed Vault Victim in Philadelphia
In the Philadelphia city treasurer’s office Arthur Brenner assistant treasurer was trapped for nearly six hours in a hermetically sealed concrete and steel vault. A Morse code knowledge likely saved his life. A mouse trapped with him did not survive. Brenner was rescued after workers broke the seal and found the rodent’s body.
