Boston Patriots Aim to Buy Old Chesapeake Flag
Boston patriots plan to purchase the flag believed to be from the Chesapeake after it was auctioned in London. Walter G. Page of Boston, a Sons of the Revolution officer, urged immediate fundraising. The banner, lost at Boston Harbor when the Shannon defeated the Chesapeake in the War of 1812, draws local interest.

Testimony Details Standard Oil Tactics in Regional Sales
William R. King, New York agent for the Standards' Company, testified he has overseen sales of refined oil and naphtha in New York and New England since 1890. He described learning competitors' shipment details, noted sales through various outlets, and said independent suppliers were owned by Standard Oil after being run separately to gain control, with some assets later bought out. C. C. Steinbrenner of Gaiena Signal Oil Company admitted uncertainty over purchases from Standard Oil entities and noted commissions paid to Waters-Pierce for railroad lubricants.
