Bills Broadly Favor Repairs and Reforms in Congress

Legislation introduced and referred covers repairing the Custom House at Bath Missouri removing disabilities from the late rebellion repealing the tenure of office act and improving Bridgeport and Westport harbors plus purchasing a Farragut bust for the Capitol and granting free tea and coffee after July.

Stokes’s Counsel Attacks Published Correspondence Fragment

John Graham, counsel for Stokes, declares the fragmentary letters between Fisk and Mrs Mansfield are not the full correspondence. He expects no trial for the assassin soon but says he will provide necessary documents to provoke public and jury interest when the trial occurs. Fisk’s death has intensified public desire for the extreme penalty. A singular death by own action. The Franklin statue.

Divorce Cases Involving Royal Respondents Reported

Reports indicate the Mordaunt divorce case will be reopened with the Prince of Wales named as respondent. A separate divorce case has been filed in which the Duke of Edinburgh is listed as respondent and will come to trial.
