Wall Street in Early Trade Raises Boston Copper Issues
In New York trading on January 14, initial demand lifted stocks with the Western railroads especially Southern Pacific and St. Paul leading gains. Copper markets held firm as United States Steel pledged to stabilize prices, while rumors of new stock issues hit Chicago & Northwestern and Canadian Pacific amid late market nervousness. London aided American buying and initial rates remained high before easing.
