Massachusetts Democratic State Committee Controversy 1898
The temporary officers of the 1897 Democratic State committee protest the Jan 1898 action to form the new body. They argue the outgoing chairman and secretary must participate to present the roll and deliver records, and that no valid majority election occurred. They appeal for a fair, majority rule organized committee uniting Democrats in Massachusetts.
