Paris January 13 The Supreme Council of the Peace Congress resumed sessions at the French Foreign Office. The meeting included the distinguished group from yesterday now joined by Japan and a broad delegation of military naval economic and financial representatives.
In Boston on December 30 a man raised a disturbance in the South End house. A reward for the slayer of Mrs. Brown is now four thousand dollars.

In Rockland Maine early January 14 Jack the Clubber emerged from hiding as authorities hunted the slayer of Mrs Carolyn W Brown. He attacked 18-year-old Myrtice Young. she escaped unharmed as deputies and police formed a citywide posse.

All members of the Lebaudy family except Mme Marie Lebaudy testified before the Mineola grand jury about the shooting of Jacques Lebaudy the self styled Emperor of the Sahara by his wife on the preceding Saturday night. Mme Lebaudy remained at home praying for heaven’s forgiveness and indications grew she would not face the court to recount alleged indignities at his hands.

After a lengthy legal battle involving attorneys from two states, Mrs. Marguerite Paul Carpenter gains custody of son Ralph, 12, with conditions. Ralph stays in Concord for the school year, with one month each summer with his father and grandparents, and one day per month with Major Ralph G. Carpenter. Father pays $100 monthly for the boy’s support and $125 to Mrs. Carpenter.
Mrs. M. J. Gowdy known as Jolly Josie the largest woman in the world died in Los Angeles from influenza. A hundred pound nurse cared for her during a week of illness as pneumonia set in. Her body weighed 616 pounds and four men carried it from the South Main Street apartment. She was 27 years old.
Lieutenant Alonzo A. Alley of the Lynn fire department died of influenza at 565 Chestnut street. His wife Maude died of influenza last Saturday, and daughter Hazel, age 20, also perished a week earlier. Survived by son Albert, 14, and other family.
A 1915 World War I note recalls French troops retreating behind the Aisne due to floodwaters. It also marks the one year anniversary of Major Augustus P. Gardner, who was the first Congressman to enlist, dying at Camp Wheeler, Georgia.
