Strong Market Holds Gains in Copper and Oil Stocks
The market closed Thursday with broad strength led by high priced nutrient issues and Vanderbilt as a standout with a four point rise. Copper shares showed morning weakness but finished stronger amid calls for supply and demand, with Arnold praised for development and Century producers projecting production gains. Union Pacific earnings rose in November and year to date, while bondholders and investors prepared for upcoming reorganizations and dividend actions.
