In a night of snow and darkness two duck shooters Henry A Mower and Lewis Y Fellows were swept by drifting ice off the New England coast. They battled the floe for hours before exhaustion and drowsiness forced them to give up as the ice gave way.
Three men stranded about three miles offshore endured bitter cold and hunger as a frigid sea and ice freed their vessel. They signaled with handkerchiefs and a jacket while matches failed and they crawled toward shore, finally reaching land late Sunday. Mr Mower and Mr Fellows recounted the harrowing voyage and frostbitten hands.

New York June 11 Mrs Annie Teresa Florence widow of actor W J Florence married Howard Coveney at her No 469 Fifth Avenue home in a second floor ceremony officiated by Father John J Morris. Best man was Nelson Wheatcroft with sister Mrs Brown giving her away. The couple attended a Savoy dinner with Wheatcroft and Mrs Brown. Coveney an English actor and playwright said their courtship began after Florence’s death and that they plan future plans after a southern trip.
