Killed by Man Whose Love She Rejected in Stoughton

Mrs. Bessie B. Price 30 of 60 Green Street Stoughton was found shot dead in her bedroom closet. Police identify the suspect as George Michael Pavlis, who allegedly entered the home and followed Price upstairs before the shooting. A 7 year old son witnessed the events on the first floor and the suspect fled toward the woods afterward.

Record Liquor Haul Continues Across New England

Federal agents under Supervising Agent William J. McCarthy seized more than 45000 dollars worth of liquor in one day across New England. In Lowell they took 20000 dollars of high grade liquor from Henry J Turcotte. Five barrels whiskey and alcohol, six 50 gallon cans and two 5 gallon kegs of brandy found. Saloons and hotels in Providence raided. two men arrested on board a New York train for 55 gallons of alcohol. Earlier Holyoke raid netted 21000 dollars of high grade liquor from Patrick Farrell's Pine Street saloon.

Earl Towse reports three officers are in good condition as the aeronauts depart Skunk Island and head for Mattice. W R Clarke led the advance party along the Missinabi river, traveling 18 miles in five hours, with Basie Rooney following to Mattice an hour later amid a trail described as fair. An Indian scout relayed that the Americans were encamped nearby tonight.

Open Shoe Exposition Opens in Milwaukee Under NSRA

The largest shoe and leather exposition opens in Milwaukee's Municipal Auditorium as part of the National Shoe Retailers' Association 10th annual convention. O Callaghan Lord Mayor of Cork who arrived last week at Newport News as a stowaway and was temporarily admitted on parole by Labor Department order. Acting Secretary Davis announced the decision. Baltimore, Jan 10. Cardinal Gibbons suffered two fainting spells while in his study. He rallied after the first attack and again weakened later. A physician said the condition was improved, with no cause for alarm, and that strength is returning slowly but the overall state remains not serious.

Despondent Woman Ends Life In Revere Home

Mrs. Sarah Pike a 62 year old resident of 9 Floyd Street Revere died by gas inhalation in her bathroom. The body was found by Lt Finlay of the Revere fire department after the door was sealed with paper. Survived by husband Lewis three sons in Revere and three married daughters in New York State. The body was turned over to the medical examiner.
