After a three day pursuit across Massachusetts and Vermont, deputy sheriff Daniel H. Rice of Barre and Bellows Falls Chief A. H. Thompson arrested Herbert Taylor alias George Davis alias Bert Needham, the Petersham suspect known as Tracy of New England. He faced charges of larceny and assault on Mrs. Elsino Ward and was to be arraigned in Athol.
