Yankee Doodle Questions Silver Coin Policy

A Boston Post reader argues that halving the coin value by cutting a ninety dollar silver brick into fewer pieces would reduce purchasing power. He warns that Congress adopting silver coins worth less than a dollar could erode trust, depress banknotes, and invite global scorn, labeling lawmakers as fools or knaves. He invokes the Supreme Court and international opinion to press for sound money.
